The Drug Card and the Race Card with Doctor Kishore and Rev. Steve Craft

Camp Constitution Speakers Bureau recently hosted a tour for Camp Constitution instructors Doctor Punyamurtula Kishore, and Rev. Steve Craft entitled “The Drug Card and the Race Card.”  Doctor Kishore explained the addiction crisis in Maine and the United States, the politics of the addiction industry, and  the “Medical Mafia” that promotes costly and dangerous treatments that have a dismal track record.  He also discussed the Massachusetts Model which he pioneered that consisted of the use of non habit forming drugs to treat withdrawal, home detox, and primary care.  Rev. Steve Craft, a former drug addict, discussed the race issue and the need for God on the lives of addicts.  The tour included an in-studio interview on WFST, a Christian radio station in Caribou, and a phone interview on “The Aroostook Watchmen” hosted by Jack McCarrthy on WXME-AM in Montcello.  While the turnouts were modest, Rev. Craft, and Doctor Kishore were invited back to speak to a church group, and a sheriff,  and a warden are interested in learning more about Doctor Kishore’s model of treatment.  “The Fort Fairfield Journal” attended our Presque Isle event and produced a video of the presentations.   A special thanks to Mr Bob Roy of PresqueIsle, and Jeannette Wheeler for their hard work and to the Truman Family of Hallowell for lodging.Rev. Thanksgiving Day 1789 By The President of the United States

THANKSGIVING DAY 1789 BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA – A PROCLAMATION Whereas it is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favor – and Whereas both Houses of Congress have by their joint Committee requested me “to recommend to the People of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness.” Now therefore I do recommend and assign Thursday the 26th day of November next to be devoted by the People of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being, who is the beneficent Author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be – That we may then all unite in rendering unto him our sincere and humble thanks – for his kind care and protection of the People of this country previous to their becoming a Nation – for the signal and manifold mercies, and the favorable interpositions of his providence, which we experienced in the course and conclusion of the late war –for the great degree of tranquillity, union, and plenty, which we have since enjoyed – for the peaceable and rational manner in which we have been enabled to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national One now lately instituted, for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed, and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge; and in general for all the great and various favors which he hath been pleased to confer upon us. And also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations and beseech him to pardon our national and other transgressions – to enable us all, whether in public or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually – to render our national government a blessing to all the People, by constantly being a government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed – to protect and guide all Sovereigns and Nations (especially such as have shewn kindness unto us) and to bless them with good government, peace, and concord – To promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the increase of science among them and Us – and generally to grant unto all mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as he alone knows to be best. Given under my hand at the City of New York the third day of October in the year of our Lord 1789. GO. WASHINGTON.N Rockwell pic

Camp Constitution Loses a Good Friend with the Passing of Bettina Dobbs

photo (3)

Camp   Constitution lost a good friend with the passing of Mrs. Bettina Dobbs.  We were honored to be able to publish her book “Gems Through the GEM Years,” and host an event to honor her last year in Rockland, ME.  She was an incredible person.  She will be missed but her work and influence will bless generations to come.

Bettina Fogge (Sullivan) Dobbs, formerly of Newtown, Conn., and Cushing and Rockland, Maine, passed away peacefully on Nov. 13, 2016, in Cushing, at 95 years of age. She was born in Natick, Mass., on May 30, 1921, the daughter of the late William James Sullivan and the late Ethel Marion (Dooling) Sullivan Brissett, and stepdaughter of the late Earl Anthony Brissett.

Living in Newtown, Conn., she enjoyed developing her homemaking skills including knitting, crocheting, canning and sewing. She had been trained and worked as a nurse. Later she became a teacher before her retirement to Maine in 1974. She helped establish adult education, the teen canteen, a bicycle rodeo and Future Nurses Club. Retiring to Maine she helped found with Charlotte Iserbyt the Guardians of Education for Maine. A panelist for radio, public TV, she was a speaker for homeschooling education groups and went on to serve as a technical consultant for the U.S. Department of Education. Much of this work was severely curtailed by strokes in 2001. That didn’t stop her determination to be an author and have her works published. Gems from the GEM years, Prologue to Eternity (an autobiography), and a series of Mouse Stories are now in print.

Bettina’s passion for education positively influenced many families throughout her years. She will be remembered for her quick wit, infectious smile, and the sparkle in her eye when her family came to visit, especially her great-grandchildren, whom she joyfully challenged to countless games of Go Fish.

She was predeceased by her husband, Sydney Robert Dobbs of Cushing; her brother, Robert Bruce Sullivan; her sister, Grace Eileen Sullivan; and her great-grandchild, Jordan Dobbs.

She is survived by her son, Brian W. (Donna) Dobbs of Cushing; her daughter, Judith D. Ruhm (David) of Connecticut; her grandchildren, Jason Dobbs ( Mariah) of Wisconsin, Jenna Tidd (Aaron) of Virginia, Douglas Ruhm and Cynthia Ruhm of Connecticut; her great-grandchildren, Micah, Leah, Ethan Dobbs, and Grace Tidd, Mitchell ( Brianna), Kyle, Nathan Versari, and Rylan Deane; her great-great-granddaughter, Gabriella Versari; her nephews, Timothy Sullivan (Deb ) of Vermont and their children, Erick, Bethany and Trisha Sullivan, David Dobbs (Valerie) of Montana and their daughters, Andrea and Katie Dobbs in Washington, and James Dobbs of Colorado. She is also survived by additional relatives and many special friends.

Camp Constitution Salutes our Nation’s Veterans and Active Duty Military

World War I – known at the time as “The Great War” – officially ended when the Treaty of Versailles was signed on June 28, 1919, in the Palace of Versailles outside the town of Versailles, France.

However, fighting ceased seven months earlier when an armistice, or temporary cessation of hostilities, between the Allied nations and Germany went into effect on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month. For that reason, November 11, 1918, is generally regarded as the end of “the war to end all wars.”

The United States Congress officially recognized the end of World War I when it passed a concurrent resolution on June 4, 1926, with these words:

Whereas the 11th of November 1918, marked the cessation of the most destructive, sanguinary, and far reaching war in human annals and the resumption by the people of the United States of peaceful relations with other nations, which we hope may never again be severed, and

Whereas it is fitting that the recurring anniversary of this date should be commemorated with thanksgiving and prayer and exercises designed to perpetuate peace through good will and mutual understanding between nations; and

Whereas the legislatures of twenty-seven of our States have already declared November 11 to be a legal holiday: Therefore be it Resolved by the Senate (the House of Representatives concurring), that the President of the United States is requested to issue a proclamation calling upon the officials to display the flag of the United States on all Government buildings on November 11 and inviting the people of the United States to observe the day in schools and churches, or other suitable places, with appropriate ceremonies of friendly relations with all other peoples. (The above is from the Veterans Administration.)

The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery stands atop a hill overlooking Washington, D.C.. On March 4, 1921, Congress approved the burial of an unidentified American soldier from World War I in the plaza of the new Memorial Amphitheater.

The white marble sarcophagus has a flat-faced form and is relieved at the corners and along the sides by neo-classic pilasters, or columns, set into the surface. Sculpted into the east panel which faces Washington, D.C., are three Greek figures representing Peace, Victory, and Valor. The six wreaths, three sculpted on each side, represent the six major campaigns of World War I.

Inscribed on the back of the Tomb are the words: Here rests in honored glory an American soldier known but to God

The Tomb sarcophagus was placed above the grave of the Unknown Soldier of World War I. West of the World War I Unknown are the crypts of unknowns from World War II and Korea, plus one empty crypt honoring missing service members from all conflicts. Those three graves are marked with white marble slabs flush with the plaza. The empty crypt originally held the remains of an unknown from the Vietnam War, but its occupantwas identified in 1998 and his remains returned to his family for burial in St. Louis.tomb_of_the_unknowns_with_u-s-_navy_sailor_and_woman_may_1943

Please watch his eye-opening presentation he gave in the Mattapan section of Boston.

U.N Day of Shame

un3   Today marks the anniversary of the United Nations otherwise known as the House that Hiss Built.  Freedom loving people around the world should not be celebrating its anniversary, but using it to denounce and expose the world government in the making organization.  Camp Constitution’s director recently traveled to Maine to conduct several presentations to expose the U.N. and call for the United States to get out.  Here is a link to the power point slides he used:

Where Do We Find the Job Description of the President of the United States?

While we hear plenty of rhetoric of who and who is not presidential, we don’t seem to hear just what is the job description of the President of the United States.  Does the job description include being the  most powerful leader in the free world? Is the president suppose to create jobs?

We don’t have to search any further that Article 2, Section 2 of the U.S. Constitution to find the power and duties of the President:

The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States, when called into the actual Service of the United States; he may require the Opinion, in writing, of the principal Officer in each of the executive Departments, upon any subject relating to the Duties of their respective Offices, and he shall have Power to Grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offenses against the United States, except in Cases of Impeachment.

He shall have Power, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, to make Treaties, provided two thirds of the Senators present concur; and he shall nominate, and by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, shall appoint Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Consuls, Judges of the supreme Court, and all other Officers of the United States, whose Appointments are not herein otherwise provided for, and which shall be established by Law: but the Congress may by Law vest the Appointment of such inferior Officers, as they think proper, in the President alone, in the Courts of Law, or in the Heads of Departments.”  And, in Article 1, Section 7, Paragraph 3:

Every Order, Resolution, or Vote to which the Concurrence of the Senate and House of Representatives may be necessary (except on a question of Adjournment) shall be presented to the President of the United States; and before the Same shall take Effect, shall be approved by him, or being disapproved by him, shall be repassed by two thirds of the Senate and House of Representatives, according to the Rules and Limitations prescribed in the Case of a Bill.”

Congress, under the Constitution, has far more power and duties than the president.  Unfortunately, most American including members of Congress and presidential hopefuls, don’t even know the job description of the president.   Let’s help change that by promoting and teaching the U.S. Constitution.

Camp Constitution Speakers Participate at the Constitutional Seminar in Hyde Park, NY

Camp Constitution’s Rev. Steve Craft and Hal Shurtleff participated at the 1st Annual Constitution Seminar which took place at the Hyde Park Baptist Church in Hyde Park, NY Friday October 14, 2016.  The event was hosted by The Farretti Family, Camp Constitution summer camp attendees, and Dutchess County LEAH-Loving Education at Home.

The all day  program consisted of the showing of two videos-“Overview of America” by John McManus and “The Genealogy of the Constitution” by KrisAnne Hall, and presentations by Rev. Craft and Hal Shurtleff on “The Moral American,” “Know Your Constitution,” “Threats to the Constitution, Agenda 21, and a presentation on the history and goals of Camp Constitution.

Rev. Steve Craft Addresses Race, Drugs, and Maine’s Governor Paul LePage

Several weeks ago, Camp Constitution instructor Rev. Craft heard a news story about the controversy surrounding Governor Paul LePage which promoted him to write a letter of support to the Governor.  Rev. Craft contacted Hal Shurleff, director of Camp Constitution who suggested that he come to Maine, and hold a press conference.  A date was set, and a news release went out to members of the Maine media  on Monday  September 26 announcing the Wednesday conference.  Mrs. Pat Truman of Hallowell, ME visited the State House the day before the conference hand delivering the news release to members of the State House press.  Mr  Scott Thistle  of the “Portland Press Herald”  received a copy and contacted Mr Shurtleff by phone and did a short interview.  That interview was carried in a number of Maine daily papers including the “Kennebec Journal,” and the “Bangor Daily News,” which prompted numerous members of the media to attend the confeerence  including four T.V. stations.

The press conference lasted 40 minutes.  Hal Shurtleff began the conference by stating that Governor LePage or the Maine Republican Party did not contact Camp Constitution.  Rev. Craft’s opening statement  which included several state legislators was “If I offend you, there’s the door.  Leave.” Rev. Craft took Governor LePage to task for some of his statements, but urged the media to leave him alone.  A reporter asked him about the state of race relations in the U.S. and Rev. Craft answered that “It has become much worse since Obama became President.”   While most of the reporting of the conference was fair, Mr. Thistle’s article had the expected  liberal slant including the accusation that Rev. Craft was a publicity seeker.    A link to the full conference:
