Gaslighting

Gaslighting is defined in the Urban Dictionary as “a form of intimidation or psychological abuse, where false information is presented to the victim, making them doubt their own memory, perception and quite often, their sanity”.  While gaslighting is something that can be done to an individual, we see it at a national level.  Here are just a few examples:

The George Floyd protests were mainly peaceful.

Black Lives Matter is a legitimate Civil Rights organization worthy of your support.

Antifa is a concept.

The Southern Border is secure.

Putin is responsible for inflation.

The laptop is Russian disinformation.

The 2020 election was the most secure election in our history.

Covid did not come from a lab in Wuhan.

The Covid 19 Vaccine is safe and will prevent you from getting and spreading Covid 19.

Our Democracy almost ended on January 6, 2021.  It was the darkest day in our history.

The Corporate Media or as it is called more recently “Fake News” collaborating with the Biden Administration, the Democrat Party and elements within the Republic Party are employing gaslighting at its finest.

The term comes from a British play “Gaslight” written by Patrick Hamilton in 1938.  It was made into a movie in 1940 directed by Thorold Dickinson.  An American remake was produced in 1944 starring Ingrid Bergman, and several others including a version in 2022.  Here is a link to the classic 1940 version:  https://rumble.com/v24vw2y-gaslight-the-1940-movie.html

Camp Constitution’s Report for 2022

We had another full house at our 2022 Annual Family Camp.  We enjoyed an excellent line-up of instructors kicked off by Mr. Richard Wright a General John Stark reenactor.   A link to videos of the classes and activities: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL7jnzBzBiNYD50pgoewisvDlj2fGxcIb3

The Sam Blumenfeld Archives:

Since its creation in 2015, this incredible on-line resource has been used by people all over the world-primarily in the United States.  In 2022, we donated several cases of Sam’s Alpha-Phonics  to the Nottingham School in Harare, Zimbabwe.  Here is a link to a recent interview we did with its principle  and founder Godknows Matizirofa:  https://catchingfire.news/2022/12/19/alpha-phonics-finds-huge-success-in-zimbabwe-school/?fbclid=IwAR2eyiUPbhaT0LTHXAqWzre3B8Bnu-f8goaM_IwDMvpZkOBfV-XKwpXB-O0

Stats for 2022:

750,000 views.  14,000 downloads of Alpha-Phonics. 8,200 downloads of the Alpha-Phonics Instruction Manuals.

Our late friend would be gratified to know that the homeschool movement is flourishing, and that hundreds of thousands of people are using his Alpha-Phonics. If you are not a member of the Blumenfeld Archives, please sign up and share his vital work. Membership is free:  https://campconstitution.net/sam-blumenfeld-archive/

Camp Constitution in Greater Alton, NH:

We had a float in Alton’s Old Home Day Parade winning first place in the best float while we passed out over 500 copies of the U.S Constitution.  We hosted Dr. Rick Scarborough at the Community Church of Alton as well as several video presentations.  We continue to reach out to people through our monthly articles in the Weirs Times and engaged in two clean-ups on our two miles of Rt 28 which we sponsor.

Camp Constitution Press:

We are working on books about our Christian flag lawsuit, and the correspondence between Margaret Sanger and Dr. Clarence Gamble.

Camp Constitution Radio on Podomatic and Other Platforms:

  Top 10 for Conservative-Right Category

6,433 Downloads and 1,149 Plays

YouTube and Rumble:

We have received over 1.5 million views on our YouTube channel since its creation in 2010.  While we have been shadow banned by YouTube, we have enjoyed a 100 percent increase in views over the past few months.  We are now averaging 10,500 views per month and have over 7,100 subscribers.

We have over 140,000 all time views on our Rumble page.  In 2022, we had 2,000 views with 1,000 of them in December.  Since we think that YouTube will eventually delete our channel, we have been downloading many of our videos and uploading them on Rumble.

Camp Constitution Media:

Camp Constitution Media was on hand at a number of events in 2022 including the Battle of Lexington Reenactment, Alton, NH’s Annual Memorial Day Parade, MASS HOPE’s Annual Homeschool Convention.

Catching Fire News

Our friend Tom DeWeese created this on-line media format in the Spring of 2022 which emphasizes local activists and their success. We host a weekly program on this format called “The Camp Constitution Report.”  Please visit the site and subscribe: https://catchingfire.news/

Camp Constitution Speakers’ Bureau:

We had over sixty engagements that we either hosted or were invited by other groups which included a speaking engagement at the Young Women for America’s convention in D.C, speaking on  a bus ride down to D.C. hosted by Liberty Church of Lexington, Constitution Day Celebration at Northpoint Bible College in Haverhill, MA, and after five years, a Christian Flag Raising Ceremony in Boston, MA, and a Christian Flag Raising in Revere, MA, a Connecticut Home School group,   at numerous Patriot groups in MA, NH, CT, and ME.

Camp Constitution in the News:

We received more media coverage in 2022 than all of the coverage in our history.  This was, of course, due to our Christian flag lawsuit. In January, the U.S. Supreme Court heard oral argument and on May 2, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled 9-0 in favor of our Christian flag lawsuit   https://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/21pdf/20-1800_7lho.pdf   And, on August 3, we finally raised the Christian flag on Boston’s City Hall Plaza.  We received hundreds of articles, interviews, and editorials from major daily newspapers like Washington Post and New York Times and networks like ABC, NBC, Fox News and Newsmax.

The Impact of our Christian Flag Lawsuit:

Towns and cities across the United States have, due to our lawsuit, either discontinued third-party flag raising or allow Christian flags to fly.  Christian activists raised the Christian flag in Revere, and Lowell, MA.  In Plymouth, MA, the Christian flag was raised and then the town voted to end all third-party flag raisings which include the Rainbow flag.  Towns in Massachusetts, Vermont, Connecticut, Ohio, Michigan and others have voted to end all third-party flags.

Third Annual Ladies’ Spring Fling

Our third annual Ladies’ Spring Fling took place at Singing Hills.  Mrs. Kathi Lear was the guest speaker.

 Camp Constitution Book Sales:

We have raised over $8000, from our book sales from Facebook, Amazon, and our on-line shop   https://campconstitution.net/shop/

We had several friends donate libraries to us. Not only have we raised funds but introduced important classic books to Patriots activists helping them become more informed and effective.

Article V Convention:

In September, Tamara Scott who hosts a show on Frank Speech       interviewed us on the subject of an Article V Convention. We continue to work with national groups which oppose an Article V Convention sharing information and forwarding E-mail alerts. While the supporters of an Article V Convention did add a few new states, we had one state, Illinois rescind its Article V applications. and some key states voted against     Article V resolutions.

     Social Media:

3,000 followers with 50 new likes per month on our Facebook page

Mass HOPE Home School Convention

For the first time since the unconstitutional Wuhan Virus lockdowns, we attended a homeschool convention. We have hosted an information table at the Massachusetts HOPE Homeschool Convention since 2011. While this year’s convention, held for the first time in Sturbridge, Massachusetts, had 50 percent fewer vendors, it was our most productive homeschool show we ever attended. A special thanks to Rev. Steve and Mrs. Edith Craft, and Alan Belanger.

Special Events

We had floats in two parades this year:  Boston’s Saint Patrick’s Day Parade, and Alton, NH’s Old Home Week Parade where our float was awarded first place. We held three “Camp Constitution for a Day” events in Maine, and one in Connecticut.  We participated in a Christian flag raising in Revere, MA. Gina Castiello, the organizer of this event, told us that we motivated her to hold this event. And in May, and October, we held cleans up on our two miles of highway on Rt 28 in Alton, NH.

Family Weekend Retreat:

We held our first weekend retreat at Camp Sentinel in Tuftonboro, NH. While our numbers were modest-thirty-five-it was a success. We were pleased to have a number of families new to Camp Constitution including a family from Florida. Next year’s weekend camp will run from Friday September 29 to October 1.

Our 15th Annual Family Camp:

We are taking applications for our 15th annual family camp to be held at the Singing Hill Christian Conference Center from Sunday July 16 to Friday July 21, 2023.   A link to the on-line application  https://campconstitution.net/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/2023-Camp-Constitution-Registration-Form.pdf

Constitutional Cartoons and Formation of the Union Under the Constitution

I am in the habit of vising local libraries in my travels where I leave off literature, promotional flyers, pamphlets and books.   Most libraries have local support groups called “Friends of the Library.  Several years ago, I stopped in the Millis, Massachusetts Public Library to leave some Camp Constitution promotional items and perused their “Friend of the Library” book sale.  Most of the books offered were trashy novels, and biographies of celebrities.  But to my surprise, I found a serendipitous gem:  Formation of the Union Under the Constitution.  So, I bit the bullet, and spent one whole dollar for the book.

The book, which is over 800 pages, was published by the U.S. Government Printing Office to celebrate the 150th Anniversary or Sesquicentennial of the United States Constitution.  Chapter 1 is the story of the Constitution without today’s “wokeness” and a series of questions and answers.  The most fascinating question I found appears on page 128:

 Q.  Where in the Constitution is their mention of education?  A. There is none; education is a matter reserved for the states.

Keep in mind that when this book was published, the New Deal Democrats were in complete control of all three branches of the federal government.

Chapter Two contains the organization of the government under the Constitution. It includes, on page 286, a circular letter written by Governor John Hancock opposing an Article V Convention.   Chapter Three has a selection of liberty documents including the Magna Carta, the English Bill of Rights, The Declaration of Independence, and The U.S. Constitution.  The fourth and final chapter contains the transcripts of speeches by various politicians in praise of the Constitution, and Constitutional Cartoons found below.

We plan to reprint this out-of-print book which is available on Amazon and as a PDF from our website:

Taking on the “Woke” and Winning at a Left-Wing Law School

We met Lauren while she was a student Suffolk University in Boston.  We-Rev Steve and Edith Craft and I were giving some friends a tour of Boston in September of 2020 when Lauren was jogging through the Boston Public Garden.  Edith spotted Lauren in her MAGA hat, and a conversation developed.  We were very impressed by Lauren and invited her to speak at our monthly luncheon (see video below).

Lauren explains in an episode of “The Camp Constitution Report” how a “transgender” student who took strong exception to her conservative values and a leftist professor collaborated to get her expelled from the school.  She refused to apologize for things she didn’t do, faced a school tribunal of five left-wing professors and won a 5-0 decision.

Law School; Now Only for the “Woke”

This is Lauren’s presentation at Camp Constitution’s monthly luncheon November of 2020:

A Republic, Not A Democracy-The Dan Smoot Report

The late Dan Smoot, who rose from hobo to FBI agent before it became an arm of the Democrat Party, was one of, if not the first conservative T.V. commentators.  His show “The Dan Smoot Report” was watched by millions of Americans from the mid 1950s to the mid 1960s.  We uploaded this timeless classic several years ago but over the past month, it has been rediscovered.

Dan was the author of several books including The Invisible Government-one of the first exposes of the Council on Foreign Relations, The Business End of Government, and his autobiography, People Along the Way which we have at our on-line shop:

The Weekly Sam: Alpha-Phonics Finds Huge Success in Zimbabwe School

Camp Constitution houses the Sam Blumenfeld Archives  https://campconstitution.net/sam-blumenfeld-archive/   which consists of the work of the late homeschool pioneer, author and lecturer Sam Blumenfeld.  Sam passed in June of 2015 and willed most of his papers, books, and recordings to me.  Thanks to Camp Constitution’s newspaper editor Mark Affleck and our webmaster Eric Conover, the archive was created.  It contains PDF versions of some of his books, articles, newsletters, manuscripts, and correspondence.  It also has many of his lectures and interviews in audio and video format.  Since its inception in 2015, the archive has received millions of views from people all over the world-mainly in the United States.  Thousands of people have downloaded Sam’s Alpha-Phonics.   It consists of 128 reading lessons.  The archive also has an on-line version of Alpha-Phonics with all lessons in audio and video format.  It was our good friend Bill McNally. founder of the Samuel L. Blumenfeld Literacy Foundation http://alpha-phonics.weebly.com/    that brought Sam into the Windham, NH Cable TV station in 2012 and taped Sam teaching the lessons.

We occasionally receive testimonials, and last year, we received one from Mr. Godknows Matizarofa ,the founder of Nottingham Junior School, a private Christian school in Harare, Zimbabwe.  Mr. Matizirofa was looking for a reading program that would replace his school’s look-say which was not producing good readers.  Godknows found our archive, printed out pages of Alpha-Phonics and began using it in his school.  He calls it “The Blumenfeld Approach.” Within a short time, he saw excellent results and contacted us to request hardcopies of the workbook.  We were more than happy to make the donation to his school.  Last week, we had the opportunity to interview Godknows on our weekly program “The Camp Constitution Report” which airs on Catching Fire News.  https://catchingfire.news/2022/12/19/alpha-phonics-finds-huge-success-in-zimbabwe-school/

Godknows pointed out something which we never considered:  Alpha-Phonics is in American English.  I joked that his students may end up with Brooklyn accents.  Godknows has had success introducing “The Blumenfeld Approach” to government schools in Harare.   Phonics has been soundly rejected in American government schools which led Sam to conclude that U.S. government schools do not want highly literate students; they want dumbed-down students who will embrace an atheist and socialist worldview.

Camp Constitution is planning on running some ads to promote the Blumenfeld Archives.  Readers who would like to help may make a donation either through our PayPal account accessed from our website’s homepage http://www.campconstitution.org or by sending a check payable to Camp Constitution to our camp manager Mr. Charles Everett 5945 Quail Hollow Road, Unit D
