Actor says abortion of his son ‘eats at my soul’

‘I don’t know what else to say about it except I wonder what he might have done in life’

In his recently-published memoir, “Karen: A Brother Remembers,” actor Kelsey Grammer revealed that two of his preborn children were aborted — experiences that appear to have greatly affected him. While society parrots the idea that abortion is solely a woman’s issue, Grammer’s story of abortion regret underscores the reality that men are also impacted by the killing of their preborn children.

‘The abortion of my son eats at my soul’

According to People, Grammer wrote that in 1974, a former girlfriend aborted their child. Though Grammer said he was “willing” to keep the baby, he “did not plead with her to save his life,” and instead “volunteered to have my son’s body vacuumed out of his mother’s.”

“I regret it. That’s all I meant to say,” he said, adding, “I know that many people do not have a problem with abortion, and though I have supported it in the past, the abortion of my son eats away at my soul.”

Grammer also railed against the abortionists responsible for killing preborn children, saying, “The doctor, or so-called doctors, who have executed generations of children in this manner — I have no idea how they call themselves doctors. Something about the ‘first, do no harm’ thing. But I offer no controversy.”

The topic also came up during a recent interview with Parade magazine, in which he spoke of his aborted son, saying, “It’s a lingering regret. Yeah, it lingers. I don’t know what else to say about it except I wonder what he might have done in life and how much potential existed.”

Years later, Grammer experienced abortion a second time when doctors convinced him and his wife Kayte that aborting their son was necessary so that the baby’s twin, Faith, might live. In explaining what happened, it’s clear that Grammer understands that abortion is the killing of a preborn child.

“We killed our son so Faith might live. We wept as we watched his heart stop,” Grammer wrote. “It is the greatest pain I have ever known. Kayte’s scream was enough to make a man mourn a lifetime.” Faith is now 12 years old, and Grammer has seven born children in all.

Though these experiences appear to have had a profound impact on his life, his views about abortion seem unclear.

“I supported the idea that a woman has the right to do what she wants with her own body. I still do,” he wrote. “But it’s hard for me. Still is.”

Grammer and his wife Kayte actually attended the March for Life in 2016, and the National Right to Life Convention the year prior. His wife Kayte posted to Instagram after the March, “There are better ways to avoid pregnancy than abortion. We advocate those. We can respect a woman’s right to choose and respect a child’s right to life at the same time. They do not need to stand in oppositionWe need never kill another innocent life. Respect life.”

Grammer has even been criticized for proudly wearing a pro-life t-shirt — making it difficult to decipher his remarks (and hers).

Men regret abortion too

Regardless of whether or not he supports abortion, it’s clear that Grammer — like countless other men — has experienced post-abortion grief and trauma. In sharing his story, he is helping other men impacted by abortion, affirming that they are not alone in the pain they feel.

study from Support After Abortion found that “one in seven men may be coping from negative impacts from abortion.” The study report explains, “Men in the study reported depression, sadness, guilt, regret, anxiety, anger, thoughts of what could have been, emptiness, substance abuse, a sense of lost fatherhood, and other emotions.”

American Minute-Notable Events of American Significance Remembered on the Date They Occurred

Army Day formerly was the date the US entered World War One, April 6, 1917.

Navy Day formerly was President Theodore Roosevelt’s birthday, October 27, as he was a driving force behind the U.S. becoming a major sea power.

Air Force Day formerly was August 1, the day the War Department established a division of aeronautics in 1947, marking the 40th anniversary the Army’s Aeronautical Division, Signal Corps.

President George Washington stated in his First Annual Message, January 8, 1790:

“Secure the blessings which a Gracious Providence has placed with in our reach …

Among the … objects which will engage your attention that of providing for the common defense will merit particular regard.

To be prepared for war is the most effectual means of preserving peace.”

In 1898, Red Cross founder Clara Barton helped in battlefield hospitals during the Spanish-American War to free Cuba. She wrote:

“In time of peace we must prepare for war, and it is no less a wise benevolence that makes preparation in the hour of peace for assuaging the ills that are sure to accompany war.”

She added:

“I shall remain here while anyone remains, and do whatever comes to my hand.

I may be compelled to face danger, but never fear it, and while our soldiers can stand and fight, I can stand and feed and nurse them.

I am well and strong and young — young enough to go to the front. If I cannot be a soldier, I’ll help soldiers.”

President Richard Nixon remarked on Armed Forces Day, May 19, 1973, at Norfolk Naval Base:

“Men and women who wear the uniform of our country are supposed to salute the Commander in Chief …

but on this day, I, as your Commander in Chief, salute you, each and every American who serves in our Army, our Navy, our Air Force, our Marine Corps, and our Coast Guard.

Your courage, your steadfastness are the backbone of America’s influence for peace around the world …

… We owe you … a debt of gratitude we can never fully repay …

– to the more than 2 million men and women now serving in uniform;

– to the millions of veterans who have returned to civilian life;

– to those missing in action and those magnificent men who ‘roughed it out’ in enemy prison camps; and above all,

– to the memory of those who gave their lives for their country …”

Nixon continued:

“We are thankful, too, for the strengths and the sacrifices of America’s military families …

We must reject the well-intentioned but misguided suggestions … to slash America’s defenses by billions of dollars.

There could be no more certain formula for failure in the negotiations … no more dangerous invitation for other powers to break the peace …

… Bluntly: A vote for a weak America is a vote against peace.

A vote for a strong America is a vote for peace …

So, support those men and women who have the courage in the Congress to vote for a strong America …

The whole world today is watching to see whether the Star-Spangled Banner still waves … Let us prove that it does …

Then we can look to the future with confidence that Armed Forces Day in the years to come will be … a day of peace for America and for all the people of the world.”

U.S. Army Chaplain, Father William Thomas Cummings, was among those captured during World War II by the Imperial Japanese at Bataan, Philippines.

He died when the prisoner “hell ship” he was on was hit with a torpedo.

Father Cummings had stated in a battlefield sermon:

“There are no atheists in the foxholes.”

Dwight Eisenhower broadcast from the White House for the American Legion’s Back-to-God, February 7, 1954:

“As a former soldier, I am delighted that our veterans are sponsoring a movement to increase our awareness of God in our daily lives.

In battle, they learned a great truth – that there are no atheists in the foxholes.

They know that in time of test and trial, we instinctively turn to God for new courage and peace of mind.”

Chief of Naval Operation Admiral Vernon Clark, stated July 21, 2000 (AG News, July 28, 2000):

“My hopes, my most sincere desire … for the future take the form of a prayer along the lines of Admiral Holderby.

And that is that our Heavenly Father will grant me wisdom and courage and make clear the way ahead, so that when we are finished, we can say … that we did the right thing … that we served well.”

A member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral Vernon Clark was quoted in the Pentecostal Evangel:

“I have found plenty of opportunities to practice my belief in prayer. The Navy offers incredible challenge.

When we get placed in positions of leadership we are responsible for mission accomplishment, for the manner in which our nation is represented, for the conduct of people who are assigned to our commands, and for outcomes, which can include matters of life and death.

The Scriptures say, ‘We have not because we ask not.’ I have learned the wisdom of asking for wisdom, for guidance … and for help.”

American Minute-Notable Events of American Significance Remembered on the Date They Occurred

During the Spanish-American War, Republican President William McKinley had black and white soldiers and sailors integrated.

General “Black Jack” Pershing, who was a Republican, wrote that in fighting to free Cuba:

“White regiments, black regiments, regulars and Rough Riders, representing the young manhood of the North and the South, fought shoulder to shoulder, unmindful of race or color, unmindful of whether commanded by ex-Confederate or not, and mindful of only their common duty as Americans.”

Democrat President Woodrow Wilson segregated the U.S. Army and began a policy of disarming black soldiers.

Republican General Dwight Eisenhower, during World War Two, integrated the military, forbade racism, and made the decision to arm black American soldiers with weapons.

Franklin D. Roosevelt warned of the dangers of critical race theory being taught, January 3, 1940:

“Doctrines that set group against group, faith against faith, race against race, class against class, fanning the fires of hatred in men too despondent, too desperate to think for themselves, were used as rabble-rousing slogans on which dictators could ride to power.”

On November 1, 1940, Roosevelt commented on divisive tactics of race-baiting, similar to modern D.E.I.:

“We are a nation of many nationalities, many races, many religions – bound together by … the unity of freedom and equality.

Whoever seeks to set one nationality against another, seeks to degrade all nationalities.

Whoever seeks to set one race against another seeks to enslave all races …

So-called racial voting blocs are the creation of designing politicians who profess to be able to deliver them on Election Day.”

On January 25, 1941, President Franklin D. Roosevelt wrote the prologue of a special Gideons’ edition of the New Testament & Book of Psalms distributed to millions of soldiers and sailors:

“As Commander-in-Chief, I take pleasure in commending the reading of the Bible to all who serve in the armed forces of the United States … –(signed) Franklin D. Roosevelt.”

Regarding Germany’s National Socialist Workers Party, Roosevelt warned November 1, 1940, Brooklyn, NY.:

“Those forces hate democracy and Christianity … They oppose democracy because it is Christian. They oppose Christianity because it preaches democracy.”

General Douglas MacArthur addressed Massachusetts State Legislature in Boston, on July 25, 1951:

“Members of our Armed Forces owe primary allegiance … to the … Constitution which they are sworn to defend.”

On Armed Forces Day, May 15, 1995, Secretary of Defense William Perry said:

“In World War Two, the United States Armed Forces helped defeat the forces of aggression and oppression on two sides of the globe …

In the Cold War, we faced down the global Soviet threat.

Today, our forces stand guard, at home and abroad, against a range of potential threats …”

Secretary Perry continued:

“On Armed Forces Day, the nation says thank you to our men and women in uniform, their families, and the communities that support them …

Daniel Webster said,

‘God grants liberty only to those who love it and are always ready to guard and defend it.'”

Camp Constitution’s 17th Annual Family Camp Two Months Away

 

Camp Constitution will hold its 17th Annual Family Camp at the Singing Hills Christian Camp https://www.singinghills.net/ Plainfield, NH. from Sunday July 13 to Friday July 18, 2025..  A minimum deposit of $100. is required.  A link to the camp registration:  https://campconstitution.net/camp-registration/

Returning instructors include Pastor David Whitney of the Institute on the Constitution, Keith Hanson of Critical Dynamic, Professor Willie Soon, world renowned astrophysicist and climate realist, Catherine White of The Constitution Decoded, Alex Newman, author and host of the Sentinel Report, and Rev. Steve Craft, Camp Constitution’s chaplain.

Guest instructors are Mr. Kurt Hyde, retired Lieutenant Colonel from the US Air Force, and election fraud expert, and. Mrs. Michelle Gallagher, author of Forefathers Monument Guidebook   In addition to the classes, the camp will offer marksmanship courses, martial arts, hiking, basketball, volleyball, wiffleball, and optional field trip and swimming, chess, gaga and corn hole tournaments.  Campers and staff end the day with an evening campfire.

Camp Constitution’s annual camp is a family camp open to entire families, unaccompanied minors, and adults. The cost for the week which includes lodging, meals and class handouts is $300 for those 13 and over. $200. For campers 12 and under, and three and under with parents are free.

Report on Camp Constitution Ladies’ “Spring Fling” by Kathy Mickel

 

—  This was perhaps one of our largest attended CC Ladies’ Retreat/Advance.  Enrollment was confirmed at 18!  but half, exactly nine, were first-timers!!
Friday evening: the potluck provided enough delicious food for a small army..
Our “campfires” had to be held inside the living room. Wonderful singing and great stories.
—  Paulie and special missionary friend, Belinda, led the Ladies into very spirited worship sessions.  Both Ladies are skilled in the field of music; Belinda played the guitar as well as sang.  We were truly blessed during worship times.
—  All of our Speakers gave us great ‘food for thought:’  Sue talked about her faith getting her through the January 6 nightmare; Karen Testerman also shared how her faith and trust in God has carried her through all of her journeys of life, even facing new challenges, her faith and trust in God continues; Charmaine beautifully tied her gardening skills and lessons into spiritual lessons which will sustain us all.
—  Times of Prayer on the hour, every hour, instituted by Sapphire, really kept us grounded in the Presence of God throughout the day.  The atmosphere and the landscape certainly added to ‘soaking up’ God’s Presence during times of Prayer.  Some Ladies perhaps prayed publicly for the first time.
—  Our Craft Time was outstanding!  Our gift of Maura, who turns ‘twigs’ into works of art while making a spring wreath, blessed us all again with her exceptional talent.
—  Building upon your marksmanship skills at a shooting range, with skilled professionals, was more than worth the twenty-minute drive.
—  The cafeteria staff, food, and service were offered with kindness, professionalism, and ‘down-home’ goodness.
—  Another great CC Ladies’ Retreat and a huge ‘THANK YOU!’ to all the generous donors and gifts received by all.
We brainstormed about our next meeting…. some great ideas. tentatively planned for Columbus Day weekend in October.
(The next Ladies’ “Spring Fling” will be from Friday May 1 to Sunday Ma3 3, 2026 at the Alton Bay Christian Retreat Center.
Kathy serves as the camp nurse at our annual family camp and is the co-founder of our Junior Camper Education Program.)

Former Acting D.C. Attorney General Interviews Camp Constitution Director

Prior to being the acting D.C. Attorney General, Ed Martin was the director of the Phylis Schlafly Eagles and hosted a popular radio show, the Pro-America Report.  Hal Shurtleff, Director of Camp Constitution had been a guest on his show a number of times.

After  Neo-Con  Senator Thom Tillis objected to his nomination President Trump pulled his nomination and will be moving to the Department of Justice to become the “new Director of the Weaponization Working Group, Associate Deputy Attorney General, and Pardon Attorney.”  We wish Ed al the best in his new assignment.

Great American Holiday Cookbook – Their History and Wonderful Recipes to Celebrate – by Susie Federer

Julia Ward Howe personally sponsored a Mothers’ Day celebration in Boston in for the next ten years till interest dwindled.
In the following decades, churches and schools observed special days.

Protestant churches had a Decision Day for committing to Christ, a Roll Call Day for church membership, a Missionary Day to raise support, a Children’s Day, and a Temperance Sunday to encourage abstinence from alcohol.

Numerous efforts arose for observing a Mother’s Day.

Taking the day from a suggestion to a reality was Anna Jarvis.

She is the person most responsible for making Mother’s Day a nationally observed event.

Anna was from Grafton, West Virginia, the granddaughter of a Baptist minister.

She a member of Andrews Methodist Episcopal Church, where she taught Sunday school.

In 1876, after one of her Bible lessons, Anna Jarvis closed with a prayer:

“I hope and pray that someone, sometime, will found a memorial mothers day commemorating her for the matchless service she renders to humanity in every field of life. She is entitled to it.”

Similar to Clara Barton, founder of the American Red Cross, Anna Jarvis’ mother worked during the Civil War to organize Mothers’ Day Work Clubs to care for wounded soldiers, both Union and Confederate.
Anna’s mother raised money for medicine, inspected bottled milk, and improved sanitation.

She arranged in 1868 a “Mother’s Friendship Day” — “to reunite families that had been divided during the Civil War.”

She hired women to care for families where mothers suffered from tuberculosis, May 9, 1905.

Inspired by her mother’s self-sacrifice and generosity, Anna Jarvis wanted to honor her, and all mothers.

On May 12, 1907, Anna persuaded her church, Andrews Methodist Episcopal Church, to have a small Mother’s Day service.

The church then agreed to set aside every year the 2nd Sunday in May, the anniversary of her mother’s death, as a day to show appreciation to all mothers — the makers of the home.

The next year, May 10, 1908, Anna organized a Mother’s Day two places:

  • Andrews Methodist Episcopal Church, where she sent a telegram; and

 

  • in Philadelphia, where she gave a moving speech in the auditorium of the 12-story Wanamaker Department Store.
Wanamaker, who had paintings of Christ throughout his store, stated:

“There is a power in the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Keep uppermost the profound conviction that it is the Gospel that is to win the heart and convert the world.

The things that were sweet dreams in our childhood are now being worked out. The procession is being made longer and longer; the letters of Christ’s name are becoming larger and larger.”

John Wanamaker was a retail pioneer and founder of one the first department stores.
With the financial backing of John Wanamaker and H.J. Heinz, maker of “57 varieties” of ketchup, Anna Jarvis began a letter-writing campaign to ministers and politicians to establish a “national” Mothers’ Day.
A suggestion for honoring motherhood was made by University of Notre Dame’s first athletic director, Frank Hering,

In 1904, Hering observed a Notre Dame professor passing out penny postcards to students, with the instructions to write:

“Anything. Anything at all as long as it’s to their mothers. We do this every month in this class. One day a month is mother’s day.”

Hering proposed “setting aside one day in the year as a nationwide memorial to the memories of mothers and motherhood,” stating:

“Throughout history the great men of the world have given their credit for their achievements to their mothers. The Holy Church recognizes this, as does Notre Dame.”

Due to the overwhelming support of pastors and churches, by 1909, forty-five states observed Mother’s Day.

People wore white and red Carnations on Sunday to pay tribute to their mothers.

On May 8, 1914, Congress designated the second Sunday in May as Mother’s Day.

On May 9, 1914, President Woodrow Wilson proclaimed the first National Mothers’ Day as a:

“public expression of … love and reverence for the mothers of our country.”

President Reagan said in his Mother’s Day Proclamation, 1986:

“A Jewish saying sums it up: ‘God could not be everywhere – so He created mothers.'”

English Poet Robert Browning wrote:

“Motherhood: All love begins and ends there.”

Mothers have the role of imparting values into children, as American poet William Ross Wallace wrote:

“The hand that rocks the cradle is the hand that rules the world.”

Dr. James Dobson addressed the National Religious Broadcasters, Feb. 16, 2002:

“If they can get control of children … they can change the whole culture in one generation.”

This was echoed by historians Will and Ariel Durant in The Lessons of History, 1968:

“Civilization is not inherited; it has to be learned and earned by each generation anew;

if the transmission should be interrupted … civilization would die, and we should be savages again.”

Ronald Reagan stated:

“Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction.

We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream.

It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.”

The Apostle Paul wrote to Timothy (2 Timothy 1:5):

“I have been reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, now lives in you also.”

Abraham Lincoln’s mother, Nancy, died with he was nine years old.

The Life of Abraham Lincoln, by J. G. Holland (Springfield, IL, Gurdon Bill, 1866) recorded:

“(Lincoln’s father Thomas) … married Nancy Hanks in 1806 …

He took her to the humble cabin he had prepared for her … and within the first few years of her married life, she bore him three children.

The first was a daughter named Sarah, who … died … the third was a son (Thomas) who died in infancy.

The second was Abraham, who, born into the humblest abode, under the humblest circumstances … under the blessing of a Providence which he always recognized …

Mrs. Lincoln, the mother, was evidently a woman out of place among those primitive surroundings.

She was five feet, five inches high, a slender, pale, sad and sensitive woman, with much in her nature that was truly heroic.”

Holland’s The Life of Abraham Lincoln (1866) continued:

“Those who knew the tender and reverent spirit of Abraham Lincoln later in life, will not doubt that he returned to his cabin-home deeply impressed by all that he had heard. It was the rounding up for him of the influences of a Christian mother’s life and teachings.

It recalled her sweet and patient example, her assiduous efforts to inspire him with pure and noble motives, her simple instructions in divine truth, her devoted love for him, and the motherly offices she had rendered him during all his tender years.

His character was planted … by this Christian mother’s love.”

The Life of Abraham Lincoln (1866) recounted:

“Providence began at his mother’s knee, and ran like a thread of gold through all the inner experiences of his life …

A great man never drew his infant life from a purer or more womanly bosom than her own; and Mr. Lincoln always looked back to her with an unspeakable affection.

Long after her sensitive heart and weary hands had crumbled into dust … he said to a friend, with tears in his eyes: ‘All that I am, or hope to be, I owe to my angel mother!'”

Lincoln wrote:

“I remember my mother’s prayers and they have always followed me. They have clung to me all my life.”

On February 3, 1983, at the annual National Prayer Breakfast, President Ronald Reagan stated:

“I have a very special old Bible.

And alongside a verse in the Second Book of Chronicles there are some words, handwritten, very faded by now.

And believe me, the person who wrote these words was an authority. Her name was Nelle Wilson Reagan. She was my mother.”

Quotes by unknown authors are:

“Mothers hold their children’s hands for a short while, but their hearts forever.”

“A mom’s hug lasts long after she lets go.”

On Mother’s Day, May 8, 2020, President Donald J. Trump proclaimed:

“We celebrate the exceptional mothers in our lives … Whether they became mothers through birth, adoption, foster care, or other means, these women are deserving of our unending gratitude and praise this day and every day.

The intuition and wisdom passed from mother to child strengthens the fabric of our Nation and preserves generations of wisdom and familial values.

In our earliest days, our mothers provide us with love and nurturing care.

They often know our talents before we do, and they selflessly encourage us to use these God-given gifts to pursue our biggest dreams …

I encourage all Americans to express their love and respect for their mothers … whether with us in person or in spirit, and to reflect on the importance of motherhood to the prosperity of our families, communities, and Nation.”

Offstage, in the real world, historian Arnold Toynbee cautioned, “Civilizations die from suicide, not by murder.” Their citizens forget, or reject, the reasons for their accomplishments, health and living standards; replace hard work with self-absorption and a sense of entitlement; and succumb to the belief that the world would be better if they eliminated evils like borders, citizenship, religion and fossil fuels.

Indeed, the Left has been devilishly ingenious in its efforts to lure the United States, Europe and The West into committing civilizational suicide – by fearmongering us that the planet’s very existence is at stake, and promising that future generations will praise us if we follow “progressive” demands.

Above all, the Left assures us, replacing oil, coal, natural gas and nuclear power with “clean, renewable, sustainable” wind and solar energy will ensure idyllic temperatures, a perfect climate all year, planetary salvation – and everlasting hosannahs.

Those tempted by these sirens’ calls should ponder my grandmother’s sage adage: “The only good thing about the ‘good old days’ is that they’re gone.” Having grown up on a nineteenth-century farm, Grandma Anna never wanted to live again without indoor plumbing, electricity or refrigerators that replaced ice boxes, ice houses and the risk of “running out of ice” before the next Wisconsin winter set in.

Terror attacks, judicial interference and Blue State resistance notwithstanding, Trump Administration and congressional actions on these fronts suggest that the United States will at least forestall, if not reject, national suicide. Much of Europe, however, seems headed for energy and civilizational collapse.

Grooming gangs” sexually exploiting young girls, vehicular rampages and knife attacks, frequent gang rapes, enclaves of assimilation-rejecting migrants, and native populations whose lower birthrates make it likely that legal and illegal immigrants will soon dominate demographics, cultures and elections – all are harbingers of slow but steady civilizational decline across much of Europe.

Prolonging these problems, from Britain to France to Germany, ruling liberal/socialist elites are shutting down conservative voices and even entire parties that question or challenge government ideologies on climate change, the energy “transition” to wind and solar, open borders and free speech. Germany’s domestic intelligence service officially classified the popular, populist, anti-green-energy Alternative fűr Deutschland as a “proven far-right extremist” organization; AfD could now be subjected to informants and secret recordings and even banned from future elections.

Perhaps worst of all, Europe may be entering not just a new intellectual Dark Age, but a North Korea-style darkness age – where energy is scarce and costly, factories close, jobs disappear, lighting and heating become luxuries, and governments increasingly control lives, livelihoods and living standards.

Germany and Britain already have among the highest household, business and industrial electricity prices on Earth (nearly 3x higher than average US prices; 3-4x higher than in 30 states). Yet they refuse to frack for natural gas to power generators or build nuclear plants for reliable, affordable electricity … while demanding electric vehicles and heating, and importing more Russian gas to finance Putin’s war machine.

(US states focused on climate and “green” energy also have outrageously high electricity prices.)

Reliability is equally problematic. On April 16, Spain was euphoric: wind, solar and hydro power provided 100% of its electricity. Twelve days later, a long blackout plunged the country into chaos. No lights, refrigerators, TVs or cell phones; no trains, subways, traffic lights or flights; cash only because credit cards didn’t work; hospitals had only limited backup power; people died.

Sunny, Net-Zero Spain has 32 gigawatts of installed solar photovoltaic capacity – blanketing over 315 square miles (5x Washington, DC) with solar panels. But the panels generate power intermittently, unreliably, at only 17% of their rated capacity overall. When solar generation surges (or plummets), its aging grid cannot handle the strain or meet power demands.

The heavily wind-solar Spanish electrical system lacks the “inertia” or “spinning mass” that gas and nuclear power plants provide: the innate ability to respond quickly to changes in demand, prevent fluctuations in voltage and available power, maintain grid stability, and prevent blackouts. And Spain’s few remaining gas and nuclear plants were mostly offline when needed April 28.

Experts estimate that the EU power grid requires at least a $1-trillion upgrade to avoid similar blackouts. The International Energy Agency says Europe must spend $600 billion a year to cover the necessary overhauls; the European Commission puts the grid-upgrade tab at over $2 trillion by 2050.

Net-Zero US states risk similar electricity chaos, financial catastrophes and economic decline. The obvious best example is California – which already imports 20-30 percent of its electricity, depending on wind and sunshine, and increasing amounts of gasoline, as regulations, fines and costs force more refineries to close. The state is also plagued by recurring power outages.

The looming closure of Valero’s Benicia refinery will not only eliminated local jobs and revenues. It will leave California drivers with less fuel (just as EV drivers have to cope with reduce electricity generation), compel the oil-rich former Golden State to import even more fuel from Asia (adding tanker costs and emissions to the equation), deprive Nevada and Arizona of fuels their residents need – and leave Travis Air Force Base largely bereft of fuels for its cargo, refueling and other aircraft.

Here’s the inescapable reality. Wind, solar and grid-scale battery power are not clean, green, renewable or sustainable. These installations and transmission lines blanket scenic, cropland and habitats. They slaughter raptors and kill off whales and other wildlife. The batteries catch fire with dangerous regularity.

Their massive raw material requirements mean mining, processing, manufacturing, pollution and further ecosystem impacts at historically unprecedented scales, to build inefficient, insufficient, but hugely expensive energy systems.

Then, to hopefully avoid recurring blackouts, those systems must be backed up with additional, duplicative, reliable power generation for the hours, days and weeks when wind and sunshine fail to do their job – adding more charges to electricity bills. And wind and solar do nothing to replace the oil and gas feedstocks needed to manufacture over 6,000 vital everyday products.

There’s a better way. Keep producing coal, oil and gas – and relying on coal, gas and nuclear power plants. Scrap plans for new wind, solar and battery systems … and junk the ones we have. Equally important, stop basing energy policy on GIGO climate models that conjure up absurd temperature, weather and other cataclysms that are used to justify pseudo-green energy and destroy civilizations.

That’s simple energy, economic, scientific and moral common sense. There is no reason (except stupidity and recalcitrance) for America (or any nation) to commit economic, cultural and national suicide.

The Weekly Sam: Ten Reasons Why Christian Parents Should Take Their Children Out of Public Schools By Samuel L. Blumenfeld

There has been much debate of late among Christians whether or not their children
should be taken out of the public schools and put into private Christian schools or
homeschooled. I firmly believe that they should be taken out, and I’ve outlined ten good
reasons why this should be done, and done as soon as possible.

The first reason is pretty obvious. The Bible commands parents to bring up their
children in the love and admonition of the Lord. We read in Deuteronomy 6:6: “And
these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach
them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house,
and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.”
How can a Christian parent obey that commandment and put a child in a school that is so
militantly anti-Christian and anti-God? The public schools represent the antithesis of a
Godly education. They should not be patronized by Christians.

 Reason two: The public schools are not only anti-Christian but represent a government
establishment of religion called Humanism. Your child is at risk of being deChristianized
by the religion of public education. Here’s what humanist John J. Dunphy wrote in the
Humanist magazine of January 1983:

“I am convinced that the battle for humankind’s future must be waged and won in
the public school classroom by teachers who correctly perceive their role as
proselytizers of a new faith: a religion of humanity that recognizes and respects
the spark of what theologians call divinity in every human being. These teachers
must embody the same selfless dedication as the most rabid fundamentalist
preachers, for they will be ministers of another sort, utilizing a classroom instead
of a pulpit to convey humanist values in whatever subject they teach, regardless of
educational level-preschool day care or large state university. The classroom
must become an arena of conflict between the old and the new-the rotting corpse
of Christianity, together with its adjacent evils and misery, and the new faith of
humanism, resplendent in its promise of a world in which the never-realized
Christian ideal of ‘love thy neighbor’ will finally be achieved.”

We already know that millions of Christian children have lost their faith because they fell
prey to humanist proselytizers who preach that God does not exist and that human beings
can be as gods. Do you have any guarantee that your child will be immune from these
lies?

 Reason three: The educators have redefined the purpose of education. Its purpose is no
longer to impart academic skills so that your child can develop independent intelligence,
and make a life for himself. The new purpose of education was defined by Professor
Benjamin Bloom in his book, Taxonomy of Educational Objectives, published in 1956, in
which he wrote:

“By educational objectives, we mean explicit formulations of the ways in which
students are expected to be changed by the educative process. That is, the ways in
which they will change in their thinking, their feelings, and their actions …. The
evidence points our convincingly to the fact that age is a factor operating against
attempts to effect a complete or thorough-going reorganization of attitudes and
values …. The evidence collected thus fur suggests that a single hour of classroom
activity under certain conditions may bring about a major reorganization in
cognitive as well as affective behaviors.”

As a Christian parent you will never know-and you will never be told-when that single
hour of classroom activity will be sprung on your child. The child who returns home
from school that day, may not be the same child you sent to school that morning. You’ve
played Russian roulette with your child’s spiritual life, and you’ve lost. In addition, this
change of values between children and parents inevitably leads to intense conflict within
the family. When children adopt humanist values, they become haters of their family’s
biblical values. That’s what destroys so many Christian families.

 Reason four: Public schools now teach sex education almost as a form of pornography,
encouraging children to engage in premarital recreational sex. The result is that many
Christian girls have lost their virginity, developed sexually transmitted diseases, become
pregnant, had an abortion, and lost their self-esteem. The boys, under peer pressure, are
forced into sexual intimacy long before they are ready to be fathers. The children are
considered animals with no control over their sexual urges.

Reason five: Drug education arouses interest in drugs, especially when the children are
told that they must make their own decisions about drugs. This gives children a choice,
which any Christian parent would consider the wrong thing to do. There is no decision
making when it comes to drugs. A Christian child need not know all about drugs. All he
needs to know is that drugs are unequivocally forbidden. But that’s not the message
conveyed in the public schools. The result? Many Christian children get into drugs and
become hooked.

 Reason six: As you know, we are presently involved in a life-and-death cultural war
between Christianity and secular humanism. When you patronize the enemy’s
institutions you are giving tacit approval of what that institution stands for. In addition, if
you have any understanding of the forces that oppose us, you know that they have
billions of dollars with which to fight us. So why give them your children? If you want
to win this war, the easiest, least bloody way to win it is by withdrawing your children
from their institutions. They cannot succeed without your children. It’s as simple as that.
So by giving them your children you are helping them tie the noose around the neck of
Christianity.

Reason seven: It is unreasonable to expect Christian children to be missionaries in the
public schools when they have not had professional training, are unable to answer the
arguments of their enemies, gain the contempt of their teachers, and become demoralized
in the process. You can’t expect children to do the job which even adults find difficult.

 Reason eight: Satanists in the public schools have targeted Christian students for
persecution and even murder. That’s what took place at Columbine High School in
Littleton, Colorado, and also in a school in Paducah, Kentucky. In other words, Christian
children are at risk in public schools where Bible reading and prayer are outlawed, but
Satanism isn’t. Satanists have free reign in the public schools and your child may
become a victim of their evil force.

 Reason nine: Children in the public schools are considered to be animals, because the
behavioral psychology that now governs public education is based on the theory of
evolution which claims that human beings and monkeys have a common ancestor.
Humanist behaviorists use animal training techniques to teach your precious child who
was made in the image of God. But the schools teach your child that he or she is simply
a higher form of monkey. When children accept the notion that they are animals, they are
apt to act as animals, without conscience, without a sense of moral absolutes.

 Reason ten: Because of widespread educational malpractice in the schools, your child is
in danger of becoming learning disabled, dyslexic, or afflicted with attention deficit
disorder. Your child is in danger of becoming functionally illiterate. At least thirty
percent of the children in public schools emerge at the end of the process unable to read
properly, spell correctly, or do basic arithmetic. Do you have a guarantee that your child
will not be a victim of this educational malpractice?
I’m sure that I could come up with many more reasons. But these ten I hope will give
Christian parents enough food for thought so that they will make the right choice in favor
of God’s commandment. The public schools cannot be saved by Christians. Nor should
Christians want to save them since they have been rendered morally dangerous by
Supreme Court decisions and the likes of the National Education Association.
By withdrawing your children from the public schools, you will be making your own
declaration of independence from the satanic institutions that the public schools have
become. You will be exercising the precious freedom you still have to take control of
your children’s education. And by doing so, you will be preserving the heritage of
freedom to pass on to your children, and your children’s children.
