Charlie’s dedicated care for his family and friends endeared him to all who were blessed to know him. He was faithful, caring, generous in spirit, and full of life. He always saw the good in people and injected others’ lives with love and laughter and exuded the joy of the Lord. He will be missed tremendously.
Charlie was born on November 22, 1941, in Montclair, NJ to the late Meta Stetter Everett and Charles Halleck Everett, Sr. Charlie’s father was career US Air Force so he lived in Germany, Greece (where he graduated high school at the Anglo American Academy), Upstate NY, and Tuskegee AL (where his father trained the Tuskegee Airman).
Following his high school graduation, he served in the US Navy as an electronics technician on a nuclear submarine. In 1971 he married Linda Joyce Larson. In 1974 he left the electronics field to join the staff of the John Birch Society where he served for 20 years as Director of Field Activities, Chief Administrative Officer, and Representative of President Robert Welch.
Charlie had visited all fifty states, nine foreign countries and crossed the Atlantic Ocean six times.
In 2009 he cofounded and was the Administrator of Camp Constitution, which teaches principles of life and law to secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and to future generations. In July of 2024 Camp Constitution celebrated its 16th annual camp.
Charlie is survived by his wife, Linda Joyce Everett; daughters, Kathryn Marie Everett, Laura (Lauren) Ann Peng, Elisabeth Ann Ogden and her husband, Seth Alan Ogden; grandchildren, Noah Everett Ogden, Isaac Asa Ogden, Anna Grace Ogden, Richard Everett Peng, and Amy Emily Peng; bonus daughter, Bridget Carmichael; sister Judy Padgham (Ken); brother Richard Everett and many other extended family members.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Meta Marie Johnston, Elisabeth Ann Backer, and Ruth Halleck Everett.
Interment at a VA National Cemetery will be scheduled at a later date.
