Our world has noticeably changed over the last several years. And while euphoria temporarily abounds in some that a new presidential administration will set it all to rights, if we are honest with ourselves, we know that’s unrealistic. No man or group of men can make the damage disappear; the tragedies reverse themselves. Who can bring back a loved one or friend who crossed the veil of death and entered eternity; reverse health damage; replace years of financial/career loss; rediscover the thriving middle class of yesteryear; grant the ability to un-hear or un-see realities that so devastate us in our closest relationships… In so very many ways, we cannot dial back the hands of time and return to “normal”.
“This new normal is gutting people and tearing families and friends apart. Splintering our reality. Strangling our future.”
– Author Kristy Jossund in her new book, Turn on the Light When Your World Goes Dark
Personally, our family has been besieged by trials; loss of health, relationships, vehicle/house setbacks, financial reversals, and worst of all, the death of loved ones and friends. We and our friends had loved ones who died in the hospitals due to the protocols, we have friends who took the covid shots and now have miscarriages, or chronic illness, or who died suddenly. I have family that moved across America to raise their family in a state that still resembled free America; I helped friends and family to obtain exemptions against the shots, and yet others I know were denied exemption and chose to let go of their jobs in order to hold on to their bodily autonomy. I have a friend who is being sued for their medical license because they dared to exercise their right to free speech to speak the truth to save the lives of their patients during covid. I have other friends (yes, plural) whose adult children tragically took their own lives in suicide due to the mandated covid lockdowns of 2020.
And I know many, many survivors dealing with deep wounds and psychological trauma from the loss they’ve experienced in any of the above categories and many more categories. And they keep putting one foot in front of the other, as they live with a broken heart in a state of perpetual grief. This book has been a lifesaver as I work through dealing with my own grief, bringing this truth of God into 4D:

Author Kristy Jossund candidly shares that her world turned upside down over a decade ago. She doesn’t discuss pandemics or covid, she focuses on the timeless ramifications of the consequences of loss – broken dreams, shattered health, loss of loved ones… bringing light into those places of darkness. You can gift this to anyone of any political background, it was written to heal the soul. She journeys deep inside the heart where the hurts and anger reside, no matter whether it started 4 years ago, 40 years ago, or 4 days ago, pointing us to the Light. A reason to hope. To heal.
As Kristy lay bedridden and dying due to the greed and deceit of others, my heart was broken, and my sense of injustice went through the roof. And then when it hit her husband and all their children too, well, could we bleed any more? I had a front row seat in real time to see how the Jossunds responded and the miracles God did in and through their lives. You too, can have that perspective as Kristy takes us through her journey and the truths that made her free.
To see such beauty as this book emerge from the ashes of her circumstances is breathtaking.

“We don’t have to be victims of our circumstances or our relationships or our diagnosis or even our time in history. Every time our world shifts, and the light goes out, whether by lie or by storm, we right ourselves in truth and find the topside once more. This way of thinking, believing, living, creates a security bubble that is not dependent on anything that can be taken away. Christ is Unchangeable. Our Rock.
Nothing can permanently destabilize us.
We can live free. Bold. Vibrant. Fruitful.
With Christ, in all of our places.
A hope fearless of the dark.”
